Scones

Today was mainly scones. Really good scones. Surprisingly good scones.

Instant Scones!

400 g self raising flour

175ml Double Cream

175ml Lemonade

Mix into a dough, a little kneading. Press down to 2cm thick. Use a cutter as usual. Glaze with milk to brown. Makes about 14.

Preheat oven 220 degrees. 12-15 minutes until golden.

Great for kids, no rubbing in of fats etc. This produces a very nice plain scone that can go either way – make it fruity or cheesy or spicy, would make a great herby cobbler for a soup. We remained just plain and had them with cheeses and pickles for lunch. So easy and the kids loved them.
