View from the south summit.

I have never seen so many people on Arnside Knott as there were in today’s sunshine. At one point on the path I met a group of 28. It was good to see so many young people enjoying the open air.

It was very hazy and it was hard to see Morecambe across the Bay.

We met up with a professional botanist and his delightful family. We had not seen him since the year 2000 when he led our group on a natural history holiday in Andalucia.

The view looks south east. In the middle distance you can see Silverdale Moss bought by the RSPB several years ago. They have done good work extending the wetland and restoring reed beds.

I love the tree on the left. For several years it sent out a branch which grew down towards the ground and then realised its mistake.
