Clematis

The warm weather has caused the Clematis Montana to burst into bloom. Not at its best yet, but a taste of things to come.

We are expecting visitors over the May Bank Holiday weekend, and around the garden I am trying to estimate which flowers will still look good. The bluebells are in full flower now, so I think they will be over, as will the tulips. The big rhododendron is just beginning to show colour on the tips of the buds so that has timed it nicely. This clematis should last, but if the hot weather continues, it may fade fast. We'll see.

We had lunch in the garden again. Normous got the sun umbrella out of storage, and we needed it, the sun was really hot.
