Peacock on a daffodil

Another glorious day - slightly cooler with a breeze blowing off the North Sea today. We headed over to the Woodland Park and did our usual walk. Swan still sitting on the nest, Orange Tips going at 100 m.p.h around the circuit and not stopping, plenty of Peacocks, Small Tortoiseshells and Speckled Woods all being territorial - lots going on. I did see a Small Blue yesterday but none here yet. It is not often that I see a Peacock on a daffodil so that was my choice of blip for today. Brownie points to hubby for spotting it, tracking it and getting my attention without scaring it away. We also bumped into some friends in the car park and showed them around as they had never been before. They will be back. After lunch I had a call from Maddie - could she please come and play with her Science Lab? Of course she could. We had lots of fun blowing up balloons with vinegar and Bicarbonate of Soda. Then she had a " Make  your own chocolate bars " kit which someone gave her for her birthday so we did that too. All the messy stuff happens here and I love it. They are back to school tomorrow so I have been making the most of the special time spent with her. I got some special time with Louie too when we took Maddie home. Perfect.
