Troller's Ghyll

I've had a smashing walk and catch up with pals Verity and Helen today.  We began with a tour of Verity and Jim's garden with our coffee, then set off to Parceval Hall Gardens where we parked up.  Back along the lane we turned on to the footpath into the valley and up and through Troller's Ghyll.  It's been a long time since water rushed down this cleft in the limestone and, in fact, we found the sink hole where the stream dropped out of sight, about two thirds of the way up.  It re-emerges in the valley bottom.  Once out of the valley we turned west across the top of the hill and returned to Parceval Hall Gardens down the main footpath.

Herby cheesy crumpets and different kinds of tea later, we took a tour of the gardens and looked down on where we had walked from the top of the hill.  The sun came out as we wandered back through the woodland to the carpark so we drove home with the top down!  Perfect day with the pals.
