New Zealand…..

…………………….……Praying Mantis

This Mantis was out and about enjoying the warm sunny autumn afternoon - not in the least obliging and constantly on the move!

The South African variety has become more prevalent so it is always very special seeing one of our native variety.

Take a look at the wide shield-like neck piece and the blue spots on the inside of the legs - these signify the native species.

REMEMBER THE FALLEN……but do not forget the living.
Today is ANZAC Day, a day of remembrance for New Zealanders & Australians. ANZAC is the acronym for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.

Your visits, comments, stars and hearts for my previous blip are really appreciated. Thank you everyone for supporting the lone boat and those fascinating clouds.
