Another seascape - Gillespie Beach

It bucketed down today! We visited the White Heron sanctuary, which was fantastic, involving 4 means of transport, including a jet boat.

The weather began to clear in the afternoon, and we drove the 20k from Fox to Gillespie Beach (mostly on unsealed road). The beach was fantastic. It's a pebble beach, with loads of tree trunks scattered high up. The Tasman Sea was, if anything, in a more energetic mood than a couple of days ago and the surf the waves produced was impressive. The noise of the pebbles being dragged back by the undertow was very loud as well. It's not a beach to swim from.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOUBLON!!
