Parrot's Drumble

Our annual visit to our local bluebell wood and beautiful nature reserve - Parrot's Drumble

There are no parrots. That refers to the family name of the previous owners. And "drumble" is a local name for a stream running through a wooded valley.

We're visiting at least 2 weeks earlier than usual this year. But lots of things in nature seem to be appearing earlier this Spring. The ground was extremely dry too. The leaves of the bluebells were really wilting, although the flower heads were fine.

It was a really beautiful morning's walk. You feel a world away. That's hard to understand, as this area is tucked away behind an industrial estate, near a shopping outlet village and not far from a major A road.
