Ken

Cyclone Kenneth, the most severe cyclone ever to hit Mozambique, made landfall in the north this evening. The country is still reeling from the effects of Idai that struck the central region in Mozambique, so this is an extremely unfortunate event, and not at all what is needed.

It poses more of a threat than Idai to the main project site we support in Mozambique. This conservation area is located on the border between Cabo Delgado and Niassa provinces in the central northern region. Kenneth has been expected to peter out in central Cabo Delgado before it hits Niassa, which would be good news and avoid the devastation wreaked by Idai. I heard from colleagues there earlier and there was light rain but nothing more significant. I’m hoping that morning doesn’t bring unexpectedly bad news.

Sod off Kenneth. You’re better suited as an elderly man munching on pork scratchings in the corner of a musty pub in Yorkshire. Not lashing down torrents of floodwater on poor Mozambicans.
