Spring in the woods

It rained on and off all morning but in the afternoon brightened up so friend H and l were able to go on our intended visit to the bluebell woods. Hertwood wood is not a place l have been to before although l know the surrounding countryside well. We stopped and had lunch at the John Bunyan, an old pub, and then started our walk, wow, the blue bells were amazing, they just stretched as far as the eye could see under the branches of the ancient beech trees. A very pleasant day.
