So volunteering on a dive boat on the rest barrier reef!

Up at 620, breakfast and walked over to the divers den HQ for 7am, drove over to the reef terminal in the team van, can already tell this is going to be fascinating to see how another outdoor business runs.

Started off with prepping the lunch then as the boat set off hydration station rotation and keeping the loos clean and stocked with rolls. Safety meeting and then a certified diver meeting. At about 1030 we were cleared to go for our first dive, I went with one of the guests called Shelly from Israel. Just along the reef wall and back.

Then back on board, while the guests went for a 2nd dive we did more lunch prep and more hydration station rotation. A lot of washing plates and soup cups and tidying up and by 2pm we were at the 2nd dive spot, none stop into the dive gear and I went down with the purser and a trainee dive master. On the way back they were ambushed by the captain who stole their flippers and had a wrestle before escaping.

Back up on the boat, lots more washing and cleaning. Back in cairns hovering washing windows and general tidy up.

Walking back to the hostel for 630pm, after stopping for a milkshake on the beach.

Quite a full on day, but I did get 2 free dives so happy about that
