Looking for beaver

We picked up Fiona from school again today (a make up for us, so her Dad can work) for a walk in the UW Urban horticultural park looking for the beaver dam that another Seattle blipper told about.     Not sure if this is what she saw…I’d call it a beaver LODGE .and we didn’t see a Canada goose nest on it like she thought, but there were several hanging out nearby, so maybe…NO beavers sighted  tho.  :-(   The rowers were coming back to the rowing center….opening day is a week away.    Lots of good ducks and some rabbits and many turtles, and a creature that might have been a muskrat (small for a beaver and I didn’t get a photo).  Might have to  put some on flickr. https://flickr.com/photos/39774554@N02/sets/72157706771794491

The Master Gardeners had their plant sale there today which we certainly did not know about…so had to park farther away (and walk further) BUT we also got to shop on the way back!  So many bargain plants, but I know so little about them, we ended up with a steel dragonfly (extra) and a beautiful recycled glass flower that I could have bought more of if they were less expensive and NO plants.  :-)  And directions from the glass flower lady’s husband about how to make another cool garden flower…  (a future Island blip!)   we also had a sketchbook along to sketch a tree ( this being Arbor Day)…once we found a lovely bench by the UW rowing center we got out our books ( 2nd extra... I did the tree in back..have no idea what it is) and Fi made up one but then had a great time with sketching people.  Very fun few hours…got her home early before dinner to get ready for her friend to sleep over.
