Den Haag

Another fabulous day with dry weather.
We went for a visit in The Hague
Claude and Sheila liked the Binnenhof, where the House of Represetatives of the Netherlands is situated.
The first extra is a play with the lensball in "De Passage"
Later we visited the Peace Palace (second extra)
It is an international law administrative building in The hague. It houses the International Court of Justice (which is the principal judicial body of the United Nations)
There is a very special memorial, the World Peace Flame.

The first world peace flame in the Netherlands was placed 2002 next to the entrance gates of the Peace Palace. A special monument has been erected there with an ever-burning flame. On the monument is the text:
"May all beings find peace". The monument has been surrounded since 2004 by the "World Peace Path" along an edge of 196 stones and pebbles from 196 countries. Some stones are special: there is a piece of stone from the Berlin Wall and a stone from Robben Island, the place where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for years.
At the beginning of the peace path around the monument is a flat round stone with the text:
"The World Peace Flame
In July 1999, seven flames from 5 continents were united to create the World Peace Flame.
The World Peace Pathway
196 Nations joined together in cooperation and solidarity to create the World Peace Pathway.
Opened April 2004
Please add your prayer for peace as you walk around. "

In the evening we went to the beach of Scheveningen to watch the sunset. (third extra) There is a long pier with a restaurant, a tower for bungee jumping and a ferris wheel. You probably know it from the fabulous blips of Farishta :-)

Reminder for the Tiny People Challenge TiPS.
Have a look here for the entries in April so far to get an idea.
The tag for April is TiPS32. For May the tag will be TiPS33.
You can make as many entries as you like. I'm looking forward to many creative entries of the adventures of all sorts of tiny figures. Have fun!
