Goodbye Virginia Creeper, Hello Climbing Rose

We originally planted our Virginia Creeper to conceal the point where our house's 1850 bricks met our new 1999 extension. But it has become a nuisance, climbing so high and spoiling paintwork with its little suckers. So today Oreste cut down the creeper and has planted a climbing rose version of Gertrude Jekyll which will not cover as much but will give us a beautiful highly scented mid pink rose.

Really looking forward to watching the new rose grow.
