Early

This lovely scented rose was blooming early in my Dad’s garden today. ‘My’ lilac (grown in different gardens over the years from what started as a small potted plant given to me by a girl at school when we left Junior School) was also doing well (see extra). My Mum, who was green-fingered, used to always manage to take cuttings and grow it in each garden she or we moved to (until our latest move, as she passed away in 2010). Hubby did a lot of clearing of ivy etc from the back of one of the large flower beds at Dad’s this afternoon - it was amazing how much there was! Dad and I put the world to rights while hubby was doing the gardening ;-))
