King of All He Surveys

Or at least he thinks he is, perched at the top of the tallest fir tree. He’s an Australian magpie, one of the white-backed variety.

Last day of April and the first frost of the season. It was only a light one, but a frost nonetheless. My zucchini plants were written off. I’ve been covering them at night, but missed yesterday because of the rain.
