Machine Trouble

Spent the day driving from Hessen down to Bavaria; started off in snow, moved on through sleet and fog until we settled down to bog-standard rain which was just like being back in Edinburgh. Had to make a detour via Munich airport though to pick up a travel adaptor (seemed like the best place to find one & the laptop was in dire need of juice) but what should have been a short stop was extended slightly by me trying to feed a Euro coin into a Parking machine's slot designed to take credit cards. Cue trying to get the coin out with a toothpick, broken said toothpick keeping the coin company, sad explanation via the Emergency assistance button, getting the coin back, not getting the parking ticket back, learning that Out of Order in German is Ausser Betrieb, a visit from a friendly airport employee and a hurried escape back to the autobahn. Still that's what blips are for!
