Alesund

This is the most northerly place we visited although by no means the most northerly part of Norway.

Most of the town of Alesund was destroyed by fire in 1904 and was then rebuilt in various different styles. There are some pretty buildings, especially down near the harbour.

We climbed up to a viewing point which gave great views across the town but also for many miles over to the snow-topped mountains. Another warm, sunny day full of more breath taking scenery.

Extras are looking over the town, including the Azura which was our home for the week; a few of the prettier buildings and an unusual sunset later in the day.

Still back blipping and very slowly catching up with other journals. Thanks so much for the stars and hearts for the past couple of days.
