Running

John and I got our first truckload of firewood for next winter today. Now we need four more. We get the wood about 20 miles away, from a landscaping company. The wood they sell is called "chunk wood", remnant pieces from some sawmill nearby. Some of them are huge, good portion is just the right size for burning. We load the truck ourselves (takes us about an hour), then they measure it, and charge us by cubic feet. It's a welcome activity for us, hard physically, but a good workout, and rewarding to get prepared for the winter ahead.
After school there was a local track meet for mid-schoolers. Jett ran in the 4x100 relay, and the 100 m dash; she is a joy to watch.
