May I

sit on this ship, this boat, this yacht
(whatever you want to call it – I’m not
a nautical man). May the ocean be calm.

Tranquillity is a necessity today. You know
how it is, a late night, many drinks sunk,
getting to bed in the early hours. Now a slow

passing is required. Allow the day to float by
unnoticed. May there be no storms, no waves,
no captain barking orders. Still waters are my

desire. My plan is to drift, aimlessly, through
the first of May, to have no thoughts  in my head
and to have nothing more I need to say. OK?
