Birthday bluebells

Normous and I  had a lovely birthday lunch together in a favourite restaurant, back in the village where I grew up. Afterwards we toured the Surrey countryside as I hadn't been out to see the annual spectacle of the woodland bluebells. We took a circuitous route through the lanes and over the heath and everywhere we went there was this wonderful haze of blue. Quite breathtaking. The blip was photographed at Ranmore, the same spot where earlier in the year there was a covering of snowdrops.
I am celebrating a significant birthday, and today was the first day of a variety of happenings. They all help to ease the pain of another birthday!
