Gold Over Water.....

This tree was a bit of a mystery to me. It is growing beside the stream in Waterlea Gardens, Pollard Park. It looked familiar and I love the gold shades with the water in the background. A kindly soul in the Facebook Group “Plant Identification New Zealand” tell me it is a Toon Tree. We had some growing in our previous garden. The leaves, as they emerge in springtime are a lovely shade of pink. The scarcity of leaves due to autumn had me fooled today.
