Roll up, roll up...

Singing this morning, then down the stairs at the Cheviot Centre to vote. Not local elections here, but an election for the Mayor of the Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland Combined Authority. (What a mouthful!) It seems that the mayor will have an extremely important and influential role.

No canvassing for any of the candidates here in the northern wilds of the area. But MrM and I (and presumably all registered voters) each received a booklet explaining the role of the mayor, exactly how to vote and how the voting system works, with a statement from each of the candidates. Very useful in working out who to vote for - and who not to vote for! It will be interesting to see what comes of it.
