Edging reminds me of the Cemetery.

I worked in a Cemetery as a student in the 1970s. The method of payment comprised basic pay plus a productivity bonus. One of the most popular jobs was edging the Sections where the grave were, eg Section A, and numerous flower beds; light work, rewarding to look at, and lucrative in the bonus scheme. Each Section had been measured by the time and motion man, so there was no cheating! Ironically the harder graft was less well paid.
