'Great Finish'

Quite a nice relaxing day today, just at home with the kids while Mrs RW went out to finish off the Christmas shopping. I'm not good when it comes to packed carparks at shopping centres so I try to avoid them at all costs.

Thisafternoon, Dylan and I went in to watch some T20 Big Bash Cricket at Etihad Stadium, where our team the Melbourne Renagades took on the Brisbane Heat. These games are a lot of fun for the crowds as there is loud music, the action is fast paced, the scoring is quick and the game is over within about 3 hours usually.

The Renegades ended up winning the game with 5 balls remaining after being behind for most of the game and playing catch up cricket. It's great when the game comes down to the last over like this one did, just adds to the atmosphere at the ground.

On the way in we found parking directly out the front of the ground on the Docklands side and I thought you beauty, perfect, only to find out after the match that I'd parked in a taxi area and ended up with a ticket along with every other car that was parked along that street. Bugger.

Anyway took this shot after we left the stadium tonight, just before we got back to the car and discovered my fine. A great finish to the match, not a great finish to our trip home.

This is looking toward the Bolte Bridge from the Docklands, Etihad Stadium is directly behind us. Beaut colours as the sun fell away behind the horizon. Summer Solstice is over now and our days begin to shorten again.

No tripod with me tonight, so this was handheld, I suggest you don't go large on this one.
