The honeysuckle got planted but then we had to sprint - PP&P at the Traverse, and due to its popularity, the play had been transferred to Traverse 1 - and of course, one could well anticipate the increasing demand for the pre-theatre pie. We weren’t hanging about.
And what a cracking play - Casablanca: the gin joint cut. A disrespectful homage indeed. Comic genius.
A bit of a dreich afternoon before we were out again for James Yorkston was playing up at Summerhall. And I don’t think either of us were that enthralled about going along, but it was quite terrific, in no little measure (apologies for the cliche n’that) due to his two musicial accompanists, Jon Thorne on double bass and Neill MacColl on everything else. I might actually give the new album a proper listen.
