Vines in Autumn

This morning I got out the map and chose a road I have never driven.  It was Old Coach road and took me along the rolling Moutere Hills.  On one side you look down over the Waimea Estuary and out to Tasman Bay.  On the other side you look over apple orchards, farms and vineyards.  This vineyard had sheep grazing under the vines and one lifted it's head to take a look at me.  I can't help wondering if those vines are Pinot Noir and would they make a good match with roast lamb?
