But we didn't pay any attention to the obvious warnings.  Mary Jo needed a lens cover -- that's it.  That's all we went in for.  We both walked out with new Tamron 18-400mm lenses.   The big selling point for both of us was the weight.  It's a remarkably lightweight lens and just about as much weight as I can comfortably manage.  I can get a little bit closer to those baby owls now without my arthritic hands complaining and Mary Jo can quit hurting herself packing her heavy 500mm lens around.  (Without her tripod!)
