The Day Shift

When I'm scanning my trail cam shots for Badgers, I sometimes see a blurry image of a Wood Mouse as it scuttles across the patio to collect some of the leftover food in the ground feeders. Today this one was brazenly darting out of its hole in broad daylight. I wondered if it had even tinier mouths to feed in the hole under the herb bed. I wondered the same about the Sparrowhawk which had made a successful catch and was busy tearing it apart on the lawn. On inspecting the remains, I think it was a House Sparrow or a Dunnock. I hope the Robin fledglings have got their wits about them!
