Māui’s Ropes .....

..... or crepuscular rays.

I had some contact with HoneycombeBeach a way back, about crepuscular rays. She was such a help when I was struggling to remember their name.

They’re also known as Māui’s Ropes in New Zealand Māori mythology.
Māui proposed to catch the sun and slow it down, in order to make the daylight hours longer, and he succeeded.

They looked dramatic late this afternoon, against the western sky.
