For Hedgehog Awareness Week

Weather was mixed today so didn't get out for a walk until the late afternoon. Found an injured blackbird in the middle of a busy road... there was no blood but it was just laying there, hardly moving. We managed to gently pick it up and move it into some undergrowth. We left it in case it was just stunned but then as we were walking home we were both thinking about it and I was moithering so ended up going back to see if it was still there.  It was already dead when we got back to it. Poor thing.
