Sand Lizard

The Bird Walk was to Higher Hyde Heath Reserve at Bovington in Dorset . However, the most exciting glimpses of the day were of sand lizards and common lizard . The site is a specially protected place for them . This female was definitely pregnant but we didn’t glimpse her male partner .
There were also plenty of wildflowers including the sundew and the striking pink storks bill ( see extra ) .
