Home from Home

This is the confluence of the rivers Cocker and Derwent and, although not on the coast, the town derives its name from the "mouth" of the river Cocker - Cockermouth!   This was where I lived from the age of 7 and where  we were married many years ago.  It is also the home of some proper Cumberland sausage and we daren't come home without some for our daughter and son.  We arrived early and loaded the fridge with 10 lbs of sausage before we met Trevor and Ros Earthy (trevorearthy and blipinros) who invited us for coffee and memorably delicious home made scones!   We were very impressed by their tiny but beautiful garden too.  The perfect end to our northern holiday.  We left at 11.30 a.m and arrived home just after 5 p.m.  so we are rather tired this evening.
Thank you for your kind comments and stars for yesterday's journal despite our lack of comments recently
