A sign of desperation?

Is it a sign of desperation when you haven’t been out all day (because its been too cold) and you have to blip your stone collection?

This morning I met up with a friend of mine who works at Edinburgh Napier University for coffee and a catchup. We both worked at Scottish and Newcastle in Edinburgh about 30 years ago and we both share a lot in common in our jobs now. We are both grumpy about the same things - we get on well.
