I’d asked him what he’d been up to at school.

His answer included science, maths, French, rugby, English and a bunch of other subjects.

A pretty varied day then, I commented.

“You always say that,” he replied. “Wasn’t it like that when you were at school?”

I had to admit that it was a very long time ago.
