If you can't beat them...

Today we reached the end of the Coventry canal and having time in hand decided to make our way down the Trent and Mersey to Branston water park.  A difference between an narrowboat on a canal and boats in most other waters is you can't just turn where you want!  The canal is rarely wide enough, so "winding holes" are provided for turning (A winding hole is a wide part of the canal).  So we passed our preferred mooring to turn at Shobnall (Burton on Trent).

During our holiday we have been sending our Grandson daily shots of what we are doing/see via WhatsApp.  The blip is Clickychick making a video for him of how a lock works.  The lock in question being Tattenhall Lock very near our favourite mooring.
