This guy does his own version of blipfoto, he takes a snap every day!

Had planned to drive around all the waterfalls to the south but last minute changed plans and we teamed up with two others from the hostel and went north to daintree.

Oldest rainforest in the world apparently, did a hike up a gorge, the weather was cool maybe 25. Because of the vegetation it just really reminded me of UK woodlands, overgrown with undergrowth and small trees, with just a few extra vines. We had a bit of time to go swimming, sadly not enough. The water was incredibly fresh, the perfect temperature, not too cold. I was very careful not to step on the riverbed, here they have stonefish, they look like a stone, but will kill you if you stand on them.

After that we did a crocodile river tour, saw this big guy and a few other wild crocodiles. The guide said that they often see snakes coming and going from the water, they don't see them but there are reef sharks and bull sharks galore. We watched a kite pluck a tree frog from a branch. Lovely area.

We then got the ferry across the river, passing a crocodile swimming across our path. And drove into the daintree proper. 10 minutes in, a cassowary crossed the road in front of us (it's a bird that can also kill you). We stopped at Cape tribulation, again another beautiful spot, wish we had come in a camper van so we could chill on the beach into the night.

Drove back down south to cairns and then went out for a super fancy meal because why not. Great day out, great company.
