Shack

"Oh my god" I can hear you squeal "What abject poverty"! In fact, this is not the case at all. These ramshackle shack constructions are dotted around every two or three paddy fields. They enable the farmers to get out of the blistering heat of the sun for a well earned break. Here, if you go large (L), you will see the farmer enjoying his packed lunch.

They are certainly not going to throw away hard earned Rupiah on building materials. The shacks are constructed of leftover materials that they have collected, bits of bamboo, timber, plywood, plastic sheet, corrugated iron, anything that they can get their hands on. Nothing is wasted in this country.

Sad to say that there is a significant proportion of the population that live in houses constructed the same as these shacks. There is no welfare or housing benefits here, it is every man for himself!
