Kevin Gordon is our Chronicler/Historian.

He gave this talk last year  on the centenary of (some) women  getting the vote. It was a sell-out, so he's repeated it. What was surprising at first was that Eastbourne had been a hot-bed of activists. However what he made clear was that it was only the well-heeled/rich women who had the time and the means to do this.  Many thousands of others who were reliant on their work to live and provide a home could not.
