Liberation Day!

Today the island of Guernsey celebrated 74 years of freedom from being occupied during WW2. The island was occupied and under German rule for 5 years. For more info see here https://www.visitguernsey.com/magazine/learn-more-about-liberation-day/ Houses throughout the island decorate with flags and bunting and we have a day off. Cavalcades along with many events happen throughout the island. We flew the Guernsey flag today at home and as I looked at it at sunset I thought it depicted the day well....the flag flying freely in the wind, the beautiful sun setting and a bird flying freely in the sky. A special day and we spent it with the family which was precious. See extra pic for the flags at our house. Had to take some down as it was very windy!
