Stringing the Zither

Day 1 back at home and it was a rather slow day. Our friend Karin visited and she had an old zither with her that she was cannibalizing for spare parts and strings. She knew Jan had a zither (pictured) that required a few new strings, and needed tuning so as part of her visit she fixed those problems.
We had turned the heating off a few days before heading off to Portugal, because the weather was so warm, and as soon as we had gone it turned really cold. So when we arrived home it was only 12°C inside the house.  The heating went on and the house slowly warmed, except for the front room, where we lit the new woodburner and the temperature quickly rose to 25°C!
