Caught in the act!

A day of looking after the 'pink' grandchild. She was very good, and great company. In the afternoon we made fairy cakes. Cakes and baking aren't my thing, although I remember making very special birthday cakes for Jodie and Hayley when they were young. Then I find Hayley didn't have scales or even tablespoons in her kitchen! But all was good in the end after some guesswork. Wasn't sure with things as they are these days about letting her lick the bowl on my watch. Decided children have been doing that for years so gave her the go ahead. Needless to say she loved it and dived into the cakes waiting to go in the oven for 'more'! She loved decorating with the sprinkles, although most went into her tummy and not on the cakes.
That evening we all headed off to the local Indian restaurant. Her new word for the day was 'Tandoori ', so when Daddy came home from work she could tell him we were all going to 'Gatley Tandoori'. This is such a fun age  (2 1/2) where their brains are like sponges and they love to learn. Last time I was here her new word for the day was 'Vanilla'.
We had a fabulous meal out and Emmeline was very good and ate Dahl and particularly liked the popadoms!
This is a back blip for yesterday.
