The Girls - backblip

There were 4 of them.  Tom (aged 11) is in charge of the girls and sells the eggs, £1 for 1/2 dozen.  His sister died of cancer at the age of 3 and he gives all the egg money raised to the Hospice where she died.  At the beginning of our stay here Tom asked if I would like to come over to the house and  feed his hens and was disappointed that it didn't happen.  However his Dad came to say goodbye to us this morning and said that Tom specifically wanted me to go to see his girls and feed them, so off I went whilst Mr T hitched up 'Matilda' for the long journey home.  Tom's dad then presented me with another 1/2 doz eggs and one which had just come hot off the press!

It's been a lovely stay here in Cheese Lane and we will no doubt return next year for a further trip down memory lane, hopefully no more funerals though.

Pretty good journey home but exhausted now.
