Blue Tit in the Rain

It rained ALL day and the birds were very active around the bird feeder. The baby sparrows spent a fair bit of time there waiting to be fed by the parents. The coal tits and blue tits got stuck into the peanuts in the afternoon. They like to sit on the tree and eat a nut from between their feet.
Looks like it is going to rain all week, unfortunately, as we have plans for outdoor activities. We are being visited by the 'Ice Saints' at the moment which will last until Wednesday. They reportedly bring a cold snap and the last frosts in Spring. You shouldn't plant anything that is not frost hardy until after this time. We have definitely had the cold snap but it is unlikely to be frosty with the forecast rains. However, if it rains on Sophia's day (Wednesday) then it will rain for 40 days.
