Lathrop House Move

You may remember my blip from the other week about the Lathrop House being moved, well, today was the big day.  Absolutely fascinating to watch, and very weird to see a big old house in the middle of a normally busy street.  Not such an easy thing to photograph from the fence, but there are some extras if you're curious.  The engineers moved the house gently, gently, along the girders using two hydraulic rams underneath the house.  It was moved at about 18 inches at a time, with pauses in between, measurements taken each time, the plumb line checked, and then a countdown to sync the two hydraulic rams to start again.  I'll drop by again tomorrow when it is in its new place.  There was a photographer documenting it all behind the lines, and a drone overhead.  Unfortunately because of the noon-time shadow it's almost impossible to see the guys underneath the house working but you'll get an idea.  A very cool project and glad I got to see it.

In other move news, we closed escrow on the purchase of a property, it was finalized last week. We won't be moving for another month or so but that's cool.  So very glad to have the home search over.

Naboo got a good post-surgery report from the vet, he's healing fast and well.  Very happy about that, too.

Comments back on now that I can finally breathe.

The Trail Blazers just made it through to the playoffs - yay!  Now the difficulty of cheering for two hometeams
