Between fen and mountains

Chopping down the kale

Tony was chopping down the kale that I blipped yesterday.  He explained that the warm spell over Easter did for it. Five days of warm weather meant it bolted.  Climate change is posing all sorts of problems for the farmers as seasons become more unpredictable.  The broccoli will be the next to go.  There is a lot of it and he has just said I should help myself while it is still edible. I asked him what he would be sowing next but apparently it all depends on temperature, rainfall and soil condition so a decision cannot be made in advance.
