Grim

Up in Cork city today to get the car serviced. The garage is miles out and we had a good walk in,  taking in:

a view of this gaunt and frightening remains of one the city lunatic asylums , a big fire a couple of years ago destroyed the roof, derelict for years - for a pic of what's on the other side and some info see here (and yes, that is a bloke fishing on the weir) The building with the chimney in the front is the old water works

Fitzgerald park and the city museum - great river views, an interesting collection and a large slice of date flapjack

The Glucksman Gallery ( a bit up itself) and the Honan Chapel (amazing stained glass and mosaics)

and lunch at Nana Nagles - (formerly a massive convent and boys school, now snazzied up
A bit of shopping - coffee and Lush bath bombs - and then we had to retrace our steps. Wrecked now and off to watch GoT so catch up later.
