Tuesday: Blackbird in the Mahonia

Warm sunshine all day, 20°C at lunchtime.
Spent the day pottering in the garden and watching the wildlife :-))
Bullfinch in the garden. Goldfinch feeding on dandelion seed heads. Blackbirds eating Mahonia berries & feeding them to chicks. Watching our little gang of house martins soaring after insects, there’s a swallow too. Lots of bumble bees in the garden.
Planted salad and rocket seedlings into a large square tub. Added some seeds too: coriander, dill, rocket, purslane, chicory, basil, callaloo.
Dried off last of the garden compost and sieved it. Potted on all of the bush tomatoes and courgette - flower clusters on some tomatoes!
... there’s a bat flying around the garden too ...!
Goodnight all x
