A Life in the Day

Storytime with Uncle Nikolai

This weekend my university friends are visiting. I belonged to an extremely disparate group of friends (who I'll blip and introduce properly tomorrow) during my third year, and although we are now scattered around the country we get together when we can. As we all studied at Durham University, a weekend spent up here has the advantage that we can revisit old haunts together, which is always more fun, and spend time reminiscing. We hosted Friday night at our house, and Joshy was allowed to stay up way past his bedtime in order to spend time with his Mummy's old friends (Daddy is a couple of years younger, and has a different group of friends who will be visiting for his 30th birthday in a couple of weeks' time - it's a surprise, but as he's not a Blipper there's a good chance he won't find out until they walk through the door!).

Uncle Nikolai, pictured right, was excellent with Joshua and spent a great deal of Friday night holding him, singing to him and reading books (pictured here is 'The Whale and the Snail' by the fantastic Julia Donaldson). The gentleman on the left rejoices in the name Keston Robinson-Price, and does an excellent line in hilarious facial expressions. I am blessed to be acquainted with both of them. A wonderful weekend is ahead of us!
