bee loud glade

Standing underneath this tree today, I could hear the hum of very many busy bees.

We sat the bench and watched a nuthatch fly back and forth between the feeder and the nest box - there must be a brood in there needing constant attention. *

Everything is busy in Spring - collecting nectar, feeding young, growing leaves. It's exhausting :-)

* And if you look carefully, you can see a blur of Jess running around a bush, busy chasing anything that moves.
